It is really up to him. If he already has a bunch then it is probubly fine, but if this is his first piecing then mabye the lip is not the best spot for him.

Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say yes, but I must admit it's better than a tattoo. At least you can take it out when you are bored with it.
it depends on what kind of crowd you want to attract.....for me it is a major turnoff.....but that is only my opinion.
