Well, Reagan was the last spend and borrow President before W.





and Bush Sr. was the one who ran on ';READ MY LIPS, NO NEW TAXES';





But he lost his second term because he raised taxes to pay for Reaganomics.





Does anyone recall that?

yes, I do remember that very well. and you can see what Reaganomics have cause one heck of chain reaction with the economic. Bush Sr didn't except Reaganomics would force him to eat his words on taxes.





with the shape of the economic is in and the cost of the bail out (700 billion) thanks to SEC chairman and Sec of Treasury. we the people have to tighten up our belts, it would be nice but, that is life. Funny - I was just thinking about that quote this morning. :) But then there was Slick Willie who, soon after taking office raised taxes claiming that he ';hadn't realized the situation was so bad';.



I remember both things happening. I am not sure if either candidate will be able to NOT raise taxes. At least Obama is somewhat honest about it.
