Is vaseline really bad for the lips?

My friend told me not to use it, because it doesn't allow the skin/lips to breath. I have very chapped and dry lips.

whoever told u that is misled. vaseline is actually very good to put on chapped lips, or if you just want to keep your lips moisturized.





Tip: for chapped lips, put it on a night right after you brush your teeth and sleep with it on. You will see an improvement by morning.

vaseline is not bad for you lips but its not the best remedy for dry chapped lips either see vaseline is nothing more than petroleum and although this works to prevent lips form getting dry it wont heal dry lips its a skin protectant not a moisturizer and the particles from petroleum which is a common base in a lot of chap sticks dose not absorb well into the skin it just sort of lies on top to get a good moisturizer find a lip balm that uses an Essential oil base or coco butter shea butter for example which will protect and moisturize more effectively

Whoa! Your friend is way off,vaseline is very good for lips.it moisturizes your lips and makes them freakoushly smooth! Vaseline is actually probably the best thing for you lips! And it is like lipgloss!
it is good on you. they are all misunderstandings. moisture is very important on your lips so it doesn't do any harm.. carry on and don't take those myths serious. i use it everyday myself
Vasline coats the lips and protects them but it doesn't have the mosturizer (unless you get the one with aloe vera in) that chap stick has. Your friend is correct.
That is not true. You can use them on your lips as much as possible it doesn't have enough thickness to cause any harmness to your lips.
vaseline is very good for moisturizing. so is nivea lip balm.

No I've never heard that. But it smells bad. I like Blistex.
it keeps them smooth.
