Patch of dryish skin on my lips?
I just started developing this patch of dry wrinkly skin on my lips. It doeesn't feel like regular chapped lips because it's only one spot and i've been putting chapstick on religiously. and i thought maybe I was rubbing my lips together too much but it's once again only one part of my upper lip. The absolute best thing to do, is to satiate them from the inside out first. Drink plenty of water ( increase your water intake); and use Blistex ( the moisurizing version); I believe there is also a Night-time Blistex you can use, so when you go to bed; your will be moisurizing them as you sleep.
In the day, I heard that lipsticks and glosses kinda do more harm than good because they don't really protect the lips (only make them sexier); so when purchasing lipsticks and glosses; buy sun-protected ones; like Neutrogena moistureshine lip soothers (with SPF 20) which has a hint of color and cools and protects the lips (and is great alternative to lipstick.What can i do about dry lips?

don't get anything with peppermint oil or anything that has methyl- at the beginning for everyday use. this is stuff that makes your skin feel tingly. your skin feels tingly because the moisture is evaporating from your lips. don't use vaseline or anything with petroleum, lanolin, or any other form of crude oil. this is like plastic wrap for your skin. it does not get absorbed into the skin like say coconut oil. it just sits on top of the skin, clogs your pores, and comes off in your food and on your clothes leaving you not only with the same dry lips as before but crude oil in your stomach. if you have olive oil or any other natural stuff, use that. my advice is to go to whole foods. they have the best stuff, but you might also get lucky at walmart or target. look at the ingredients, get something with shea butter and other natural stuff, no chemicals. my fave is alaffia. **** is hardcore.
edit*- forgot to add, also check for hydrogenated oils. this is trans fat - the stuff that clogs your arteries (you end up eating most of your lip balm). and i believe that the papaw stuff is petrolatum-based which pissed off a lot of moms a while back.

don't get anything with peppermint oil or anything that has methyl- at the beginning for everyday use. this is stuff that makes your skin feel tingly. your skin feels tingly because the moisture is evaporating from your lips. don't use vaseline or anything with petroleum, lanolin, or any other form of crude oil. this is like plastic wrap for your skin. it does not get absorbed into the skin like say coconut oil. it just sits on top of the skin, clogs your pores, and comes off in your food and on your clothes leaving you not only with the same dry lips as before but crude oil in your stomach. if you have olive oil or any other natural stuff, use that. my advice is to go to whole foods. they have the best stuff, but you might also get lucky at walmart or target. look at the ingredients, get something with shea butter and other natural stuff, no chemicals. my fave is alaffia. **** is hardcore.
edit*- forgot to add, also check for hydrogenated oils. this is trans fat - the stuff that clogs your arteries (you end up eating most of your lip balm). and i believe that the papaw stuff is petrolatum-based which pissed off a lot of moms a while back.

Murad Lip Therapy Pomegranate SPF 15.
It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it, since you get glossy lips and they get moisturized. The smell is actually pretty good! It's lightly sweet. Also, it leaves your lips with a light pink. :)

This is probably the best one of the Burt's Bees collection. It has a very nice peppermint scent and it gives your lips a nice tingly feeling. I've heard from some people that their boyfriends love it when they kiss...if that worries you at times. It makes you lips really soft.

These aren't that bad...they aren't crazy good either. You think that they smell okay at first, but then later on, it gets a bit childish and too fruity.

CARMEX is the best and it's $1.02 at Target. It has Salyclyic Acid in it which ';sluffs'; off the dead skin cells and then it moisturizes the skin underneath. It's not a sexy product, but it's the best. It also has 15 SPF in it, which is great. They now make it in Cherry %26amp; Strawberry.
Great for wearing at bed time and also will help your lip liners go on smoother in the morning!

Lipfinity by Revlon works really well. It stays on all day and comes with a gloss. They sell all colors, including the one I wear which is next to nude - it has a little color in it - but most people think I'm not wearing any lipstick. Just buy any kind of foundation if you want to do it. Though it might not be too healthy...but who knows. Maybe lip gloss isnt great either but anyways, why not just use nude lip gloss? Either way is fine I guess.

i would put on chap stick instead that way it will stick to it because the lip gloss well is shiny and silky when the chap stick makes it work better.

I would just get a nude colored lipstick/gloss. Cover Girl makes Outlast which lasts 16 hours. A couple others have long-lasting lipsticks like that as well.
you could just use the foundation and not the lip gloss because the nude 'unshiny'; lip is so much better looking.
Lipfinity by Revlon works really well. It stays on all day and comes with a gloss. They sell all colors, including the one I wear which is next to nude - it has a little color in it - but most people think I'm not wearing any lipstick. The color # is 210 and you can find it at any drugstore, sometimes they're on sale for about $7-8.My friend uses foundation on her lips?
Just buy any kind of foundation if you want to do it. Though it might not be too healthy...but who knows. Maybe lip gloss isnt great either but anyways, why not just use nude lip gloss? Either way is fine I guess.

i would put on chap stick instead that way it will stick to it because the lip gloss well is shiny and silky when the chap stick makes it work better.

I would just get a nude colored lipstick/gloss. Cover Girl makes Outlast which lasts 16 hours. A couple others have long-lasting lipsticks like that as well.

I am currently 13 years old, and about two months before my b-day on June 13, when I was 12, I had an amazingly hot boyfriend(But the only problem was that he was very handzy if you know what I mean). I wasn't ready for that kind of relationship, and I definintely wasn't ready for my first kiss!!! I want to wait a while until the time is right to kiss. I felt pressured at the moment, so I rejected him. It felt good to stand up for what I believe in, but now, I just feel plain wrong for not kissing him. Should I have just kissed him? He was so determined for the kiss, but I didn't know if he really wanted to kiss me because he really was interested in me, or for popularity at school. Haha, it sounds crazy even as I write that... but kissing for a long time gets the blood pumping to your lips and they get bigger - and sucking on your own lips for a minute or two will do the same thing!!
Also pumplers you buy at the store (like Sephora's best seller, Lip Venom) are just putting hot spices on your lips to - again - increase blood flow. I don't see anything wrong with you making a gentle potion of oil and cayenne pepper. But start out easy - applying too many spices and halfway burning your lips is not the best plan. I heard that if you put white makeup over the 'dip' of your upper lip (on the skin that is), your lips look fuller because the white looks like light is reflecting off of your lips.
brush your lip with a tooth brush!! it makes ur lip instantiatly plump!! also keep chap-stick on so they dont crack and look natural and beautiful!
i used this technique where u push ur tongue from inside ur tongue against ur lips..

Try and find something that you are allergic to and rub it on your lips. Sometimes people have allergic reactions to foods and certain fruits. Unfortunately, this could also cause your whole face to swell up too. Better stick with my first suggestion.
i think i read that if you put eyeliner on when your putting your lipstick on or red lipstick is suppose to give the illusion of bigger lips.

I'm not trying to sound ridiculous or stupid, but seriously, this works...get a root beer or empty wine bottle, and put your lips on the inside of the bottle and try to suck as much air in as you can...(make sure the bottle is glass with a small opening) Your lips wont stay like this forever...maybe only for a few hours, but its pretty much free to do...

Make sure to wash the area alot, and I'd try a tinted acne cream, but don't use too much because it'll stick out like a sore thumb even more than before. Then if you want to, you can dab some hydrogen peroxide afterwards. By scratching pimples you can cause an infection so the hydrogen peroxide helps.
And stop touching your hair and face during the day. Do this treatment at least 2 x a day.
Here are other treatments you can try.
After you wash your face with a soap like Aveeno, use a cotton ball to clean oil from the skin with this cooling astringent.
Using Neosporin - Dad a little Neosporin on pimples and blemishes. The antibiotic helps clear up acne.
Phillips' Milk of Magnesia. Using this as a facial mask helps dry up the excess oils from your face, and dabbing it on pimples to reduce redness and to speed up healing.
Using ReaLemon. Rub the ReaLemon lemon juice over blackheads before going to bed. In the morning, wash of the juice with cool water. Repeat this for several nights and you should see a big improvement in the skin. Also dab ReaLemon on any blemish a few times during the day when you have a chance.

I was given samples in my dental office to try them and found them to have just too much gel and they don't fit right unless you have perfectly sized teeth and gums for the strips. I tried samples from a few of those companies and with similar results.
Maybe I am spoiled because I have the professionally made bleaching trays. Because these have been custom made to fit me, there is no excess on the gums and I can regulate how much gel I am using on them. They are very comfortable and I can even talk on the phone with them in.

Trumpet embouchure. How should the lips be placed?
I have watched videos and read that the mouthpiece should ';sit on the bottom lip';, and that the top lip does the buzzing. This advice from a guy with his Bachelors in trumpet performance. I have also read that really it doesn't matter just as long as it doesn't limit your range and endurance. That being said, what are the things to keep in mind? I'm a greenhorn (no pun intented) and for a year I've been getting a pretty clean sound from about 50-50 top and bottom, with both ';M sound'; puckered lips INSIDE. (Playing ';in the red'; is placing the mouthpiece on the softer inner portion of the lip and is generally frowned upon). Your teeth shouldn't be touching, but they also shouldn't be too far apart (no more than around 2 stacked nickels). Finally, you should have firm corners/tensed buccinator muscles but the lips should be relaxed.
I obviously can't see what it looks like, but I'd keep going with what works for the time being, because a) it works, and b) it doesn't sound like you're doing anything radical that will negatively affect your playing down the road.
For the best results, take at least one lesson with an accomplished local trumpet teacher. Receiving a BM-Trumpet Performance takes remarkably little skill/talent, so be wary of receiving advice from people unless you've heard them play or their students play.

I dunno have you been checked for TSS? Becuz this isn't normal. You shouldn't have any pain there.
You are not the only one. I feel this pain alot and I am 21 wks. Some times they are worse than others. If I feel it coming on I lay down because It feels so weird.
I get them too and have had them with each of my three pregnancies. I have no idea what the pain is caused from but I have asked my doctor and he assured me they are normal and nothing to worry about.
